Linguistic Errors Committed by Iraqi MA Students in Writing Theses

Writing theses is an essential requirement for getting MA degree in Iraq. students are required to produce a formal academic piece of writing concerning certain assigned subject. A thesis must involve creative inspection topic based on the candidate’s own innovative ideas. As result, it regularly yields significant and considerable ideas topic; be organized written terms standards knowledgeable presentation. However, frequently witnessed commit various types errors, among which linguistic (syntactic semantic) errors. Thus, objective this study analyze errors committed by their thesis, focusing reasons behind these finding out pedagogical recommendations help overcome problems. Based grammatical description Quirk et al. (1985) Huddleston Pullum (2005), qualitative analysis twenty made provide explanation detect causes faults hope solution such problematic issue.
